What did I do to upset her? What was she thinking?

Before you say anything, I've known her for 3+ years. She definetely behaved very very weirdly.

I was talking to this close girl friend of mine (call her A) and I wanted to ask her opinion on a friend's relationship...

  • She is always very interested in what I have to say.
  • When I say that I'm not sure if I should tell her, A always goes: "Teeelll mee noww. You've made me curious."
  • She never mentions her parents when she promises me she won't snitch.

However, this time, the moment I mentioned Arnold's interest, her interest completely disappeared.

She was perfectly ok in this convo until I talked about Arnie...

That is VERY odd.

The convo here:

A: "What else is on your mind?"

Me: "There is something I was thinking about but I don't know if I should tell you cuz I'm rather ashamed of saying it to you."

Me: "I mean it's not weird or anything but I'm just embarrassed. I simply don't know if I should tell you or not..."

A: "Do as you wish. I won't force you." (She became very interested here but where is the "I wanna know everything now!!" like she always says?)

Me: "Ok, I'll tell but promise me that you're not saying this to anyone else. Absolutely no one else."

A: "Not even mom or dad?" (Usually, she'd go "Ok" or "I'll do my best!"...)

Me: "No."

A: "But I can't lie to my mommy..." (Here is where she'd tell me not even her closest friend will find out.)

Me: "Okay, you can tell your family if you want. I don't see why they would be interested tho..."

A: "Ok..."

Me: "I think my friend likes Sarah."

A: "You like Sarah?"

Me: "Not me lol, I'm talking about Arnold."

(Here is where her smile disappeared just like her interest)

A: "Oh, yeah, that's pretty obvious."

Can anyone tell me what I did to upset her? She's always interested in what I have to say and very curious if I say that I'm not sure if I should tell her something. What did I do wrong? I really didn't mean to hurt her...😥
