I just started a new job but I’m at the bottom of the totem pole. A lady who has her own office often stares at me and not sure why since she is in the top level of the company and I’m just a temp employee. She ignores everyone else in my department but seems hyper fixated on looking at me.

Hmm that does sound kinda weird that she's always staring at you like that. A few possibilities:
- She might be sizing you up since you're new, trying to get a read on you. Some bosses can be intimidating to new people.
- There could be some jealousy or insecurity. Like she feels threatened by anyone below her that she sees as potentially rising up quick.
- Possibly attraction? I've heard of some situations where a boss develops a thing for an employee even if they wouldn't act on it. But that's definitely an issue if it made you uncomfortable.
- She might just be in her head a lot and not realize how intense her staring comes across. Some people do zone out like that without meaning to be rude.
My advice would be try not to make direct eye contact when you notice her doing it again so you don't feel on the spot. And if it continues to a point that it bothers you, maybe casually mention it to a coworker you trust to get their read too. Don't directly confront her unless it escalates, but having an ally could help. Hopefully it's not meant in a negative way! Keep your head up.
