Why is my ex stalking me and following me from his car?

its done its over, he broke my heart wasn't all that into me, and was a d-ck, but why does he drive around my neighborhood and follow me around? and he slows down his car near me and just stares at me from his car. I'm not creeped out because I know him as a person but it just hurts. brings the pain back.

i appreciate your feedback but I'm confused because he's the one that dumped and rejected me so why is he after me all over again and why can't he just email me or something to talk?

Sounds like he's still hurt and looks like he wants you again, confront him and tell him you know that he's following you and to stop. He might get worse if you don't say something... good luck.

Stuff like that can get progressively worse. Don't be surprised if he's looking in your windows after too long. That's why I say, tell him straight up to leave you alone. If he persists, then have the police tell him to get lost.

Cops can't do a thing, everyone is free to go to whatever public places they wanna go to. It's only when it comes as far as beating up or breaking and entering that's when they can cuff him up and get him a restraining order.

"a knowing and intentional course of conduct directed at a specific person that seriously alarms, annoys, torments or terrorizes the person, and that serves no legitimate purpose."

Well, prove that the guy's intention was doing that and not just being in public places where everyone has the right to be.

Though in cases like continued harassment that leave a papertrail like calling, mailing etc. things get a bit easier. But real stalkers don't stop because of a few months in jail.

You are correct about that, proving intent is not easy.

The police have to catch him in precarious positions that show a pattern if they aren't able to get anything out of him the first time. Though in the case of most "ex-boyfriends" just having a cop knock on your window and having that chat is enough. But like you mentioned, the really screwed up ones who have no problem leaving evidence, are not easily deterred.
