Guys, do you care about a girl's voice? could that be a turn off ?

My voice is basically my only insecurity. I somehow sound like a little girl, I'm 20 but I don't speak loud or anything and people hardly imagine I can shout lol but believe me I can

Plus that's not a nice insecurity to have : making speaking in public difficult or to a guy you do like, or making you choose texting over calling, so yeah would that turn you off ? wouldn't you mind dating someone with a baby voice if that's pretty much her only flaw ? I always got remarks on it like oh I didn't thought you sounded like that.

The voice itself isn't really a problem at all.

BUT... much of the time, when a girl has a little girl's voice, she also has some infantilism, which is also sometimes called Peter Pan Syndrome: where a part of her personality never grew up. Usually, that's a coping mechanism for trauma or abuse as a child, but sometimes due to a parent who always treated their child like a 3 year old, even into and past their teen years.

I would be on the lookout for indications of that, and if they were there, I'd bring it up, because those are the types of personality issues that can because problems in a relationship down the road. They are issues that can be RESOLVED, though, with some help and some work.

Now, if that doesn't apply to you, then no problem. Again, your voice itself isn't an issue.

Haha believe me my parents have treated me like a real grown up since I was 9, explaining things to me that I shouldn't have to deal with ... I've got the absolute opposite problems : I'm way too mature for my age, and really rational , if my voice has something to do with a psychological trauma it would be more likely to have something to do with a suposedly needed reminder to my parents that I still am a child, despite how clever and thoughtfull I could be

Okay, then, no problem. Some people just naturally have that voice. If so, that's fine.

Jennifer Tilly has a high pitched voice and I don't think it effects how people view her. Likewise with Yeardley Smith - but I couldn't see myself dating Yeardley Smith because her voice is a little too famous.

Here's the bottom line: how do you make people feel? If you make people feel all warm & fuzzy inside, then they will light up when they hear your voice - no matter what your voice sounds like. On the other hand, if you make people feel miserable when you're near them (some of my former managers come to mind), then people will cringe when they hear your voice - no matter how pretty it may be.

I've heard a few women with really high voices (like they sound like 7 year olds) and it does sound weird. Not a problem per se, but can you imagine a business woman with a voice like that? Probably not. I think you can train your voice or go to speech therapy, it would probably be beneficial. How high exactly is yours, anyway?

Its not that high at all lol, I'm not a chipmunk either, just don't have a hot voice lol

I guess my voice don't fit my personality or looks but it isn't a problem in itself like if a more childish, shallow person had it people wouldn't be shocked
