I'm not sure why I even need to fucking be on here. I'm thinking about either deleting my account, deactivating my account for going on a completely different site because this is a total waste of time. I'm getting upset over people I don't know. Even if they THINK they're right, it's just upsetting. Now that most of my favorite GAG users are gone (LOL it sounds like a drug!)! Most of you find my questions kinda unnecessary or disagree. Those who do agree, thank you. The way I come off on this site is fucked up. I'm not a whore, I'm not a bad girl and I'm not against marriage. I fucking hate all these comments I've been getting about myself--though you don't even know who I am. I'm NOT disgusting and I don't have a bad past with men. I'm not a feminist. I might delete all my really personal questions too! I don't need criticism from strangers who MIGHT be right. It's bad enough I have asshole in my every day life saying shit.

Should I leave?

I've been frequenting GAG for around 3 and a half years now, so I like the site overall. That being said though, my advice generally is to do what you feel is mentally best for you. If people's words are really getting to you and negatively influencing you, it may be time to either take a break or leave. People react to hate differently. I tend to judge insults/criticism worth as much as I value the person giving the insults/criticism, and I view a random dudebro or dudet on the internet as having low cred, so I rationalize their insults as without meaning too.

Nevertheless, so it seems like your issue is mainly in responses to your questions? Based on what I've noticed occasionally on previous questions of mine, I imagine there are the select few opinions that decide to ignore the post almost entirely and just insult the question itself, right?
Well, to an extent, there isn't much you can do about those people. Tis the internet after all. However, if it is a sort of deep/personal question, I would instead suggest using the PM system for its actual intended purpose. It gets a bad rep because of all the abuse it gets from people trying to sext or flirt with it. However, it can also be used to get advice without having post a question publicly for everyone to see. I believe that *most* people would respond to a sincere message asking for help. If you are aware of each other's existence on the site, great. If not, you could do something like say "Hey, so I've seen you around GAG before, and I had this question regarding _____. I thought you may be able to help give some good advice. Would you be willing to listen?" If you mention the topic, you'll get more responses too (it shows you are asking for advice, not "advice"). Likewise, since you're an xper 7, and not 2, you have more rep lol.

I've had a few people in the past PM for actual advice. (It's also why I leave my messages public/open). I think one of the nice things about PMing someone for advice specifically is that you can get more in-depth answers. Often times, people just submit a couple sentences for an answer and leave. PMing someone lets you ask them for details and make it seem less tiresome.

If you should choose to stay, I have some general advice with regards to internet fighting.
-- Remember that internet fighting has no end. I think that debating is fun, but arguing is not. If someone is throwing shade or just being an overall jerk, it's best not to be a dick back. Not only does that bring you down to their level, but in the case of the internet, that's often what they're looking for.
I've avoided most people's hate towards me just by either downplaying their comments (i. e. just denying briefly, saying why it isn't true, and moving on), and if/when they continue, I just ignore it. I'm not sure how much it actually matters, but if you think about it from a user's perspective, they'll look at the comments and see both sides. It will make you look actually stronger if you didn't insult back, because it means you didn't take their words to heart, so their insults were ultimately weak.

-- You don't have to respond to posts if you don't feel like it. Seems obvious to say, but it is important to remember. There have definitely been debates before that I've just left when someone responded to an opinion of mine because I didn't have the motivation to continue. If a person won't leave alone and keeps spamming comments, you can block them. If they make questions/opinions about you to insult, that's a member post. If they keep replying to your opinion waiting for you to reply, that also makes them look desperate/petty as hell. The most common thing that happens from ignoring someone is nothing.

I just feel like people who didn't even know me (who still don't really know me) can now bully me. People can judge me. I threw myself onto the internet and now I want to completely change how I've come off as. People perceive me much worse than I see myself. If anything when people think I'm doing something wrong, I feel disgusted with myself. My self esteem is so much lower now--not that it was high before--but now it's horrible. The only way to change who I am on here is to delete all my questions, stop following everyone and make a new account. How is being with ONE person, sexually... make anyone a whore. People are stupid. I just need to get out of here.

It's not that people said any of this flat out... BUT I feel as if now; instead of my actual friends judging me--the whole world is judging me. That's unsettling in itself. I don't feel supported at all. I am starting to have suicidal thoughts and it's not good.
