We live in a overly feminized world today. Where feelings matter more than facts. Where agreeableness is excepted and assertiveness is criticized. The Failures of Modern Men can't be ignored. We see them everyday all around us, but rarely see true masculinity in males today sadly.

Masculinity isn't Toxic

Masculinity is characterized, according to the APA, by strength, stoicism, aggression, and power. Let’s stop treating masculinity as our enemy and treat it like our friend. What is unhealthy is not masculinity or femininity but the demeaning of masculine men and feminine women.

Toxic Behavior is the term we should use not Toxic Masculinity. You don't need to be a masculine man to be a toxic person, you just need to be a piece of sh*t is all. Many women out there are pieces of sh#t too not just the men. Toxic masculinity is just a made up feminist term.

T-Levels

Over the past 30 years, men’s testosterone levels have been steadily decreasing. But why should a man care about declining testosterone levels? I don't know maybe because your a freaking man, and you need testosterone in order to act like a man. Just as women need estrogen to act like a women.

For men themselves, decreasing testosterone isn't a good thing at all.

Low levels can result in low sex drive, reduced fertility, lower muscle mass, increased body fat, reduced memory, mood swings, man buns to name just a few side effects. On a societal level, the implications could be far more direr.

The Sad Truth

The sad truth is ladies are known to love bad boys, even if subconsciously. Bad boys are usually masculine and dangerous. So, ladies sadly you might have a problem in the future finding a guy that doesn't cry when he watches the notebook, is good with paying for dates, and doesn't wear pink or visit salons.

I can see where you were going with this. And the idea was definitely there. Unfortunately way more goes into this equation. Society is number one. And it trickles down from there. One thing that stems from it is mother's. I hate to say it but mostly single mothers. But to play on that, where is the father. Mom's were never meant to be the stern and/or punisher type of parent. I strength train intensively for three times a week consistently for the past three years, and look nothing like the muscly guy up top (have done martial arts for the past 8). You can be masculine and a strong man and also sensitive or artistic and respect women. Just like women can be femanin and be tough and independent while getting help from men. Masculinity isn't Toxic. I agree. Neither is femininity toxic. Both of those are neutral. There are ways they can be expressed that are positive, productive and ways that are negative, destructive. Male toxicity just becomes more evident since it leads more often to physical violence - while female toxicity usually leads to emotional violence.

To give it a quick summary - masculinity becomes toxic when it is not properly raised and learnt to be dealt with.
The problem is that we are living in a society where boys aren't allowed to develop a healthy level of masculinity, are shamed for being masculine and having higher drives (roughhouse playing, etc), having little to no male role models and are essentially treated like dysfunctional girls rather than having different physical and psychological needs. There is a reason why a good chunk of prisoners come from single mother households - because these men never learnt how to be productive with their masculine energy and drives.

So if we want men to not be toxic we have to allow boys to actually understand their masculine drives - which will naturally result in some extent of gender typical behaviour. And by understandnig it, they learn how to properly valve it into a productive drive for the betterment of society.

Unfortunately feminism communicates what women SAY they want, not what they REALLY want. What they really want is war raging deep inside themselves.

Time to day fuck you instead of trying to rationalize with them. Second thing is we got to emulate successful men and do what they do. Don’t listen to women, school teachers, feminized men about what women want (unfortunately that’s about 95 percent of what young boys hear). Instead find a successful guy despite maybe disliking him for being prick. But watch how he acts, what he does and what he values. He might not be an asshole. The most successful men with women are stand up good guys but they also don’t let people push them around.

This is not an opinion on your My Take, it's just some statements about things it brought to mind.

I've never heard, nor read, of anyone saying that "masculinity is toxic". I've read opinions that some think there's a thing called "toxic masculinity", but that's something totally different.

Rather than get into why more men don't strive to look like Daniel Craig, I just want to throw this out there. There are a lot of behaviors and traits that go along with looking like Daniel Craig, that women have been soundly rejecting over the last 30 years or more. I won't throw a blanket on it and say "it's the Feminists". Some of it was warranted.

Let's face it, all "men" want pussy whether or not they have bodies like that, or a testosterone charged attitude, so they adapted to what women seemed to want in order to get that pussy. That adaptation is the path of least resistance in order to get laid. That translates into "give her what she thinks she wants so you can get laid".

However, when I look at posts from 18 to 25 year old women on here, 90% of them a) don't know what they themselves want and b) complain that the ONLY thing guys want from them IS sex. Well... that appears to be true. So it seems to me that the testosterone IS flowing and the hormones ARE popping, but not how they expected it would.

My thoughts are that there's way more to this than meets the eye. Stay strong and safe, everyone.

Well actually I fall into a category known as Klinefelters syndrome, I was born with the lack of production of testosterone, which is a medical problem, and I take testosterone every two weeks for the rest of my life by shot, and have been for nearly 11 years.

Testosterone doesn’t make you big unless you have average testosterone balance and then your doing the treatments.

My levels are below average even with the TRT (Testosterone Replacement therapy) and yes I have all those side affects of low testosterone from my disorder.

I’ve seen tough guys, they are weak minded compared to guys that have to suffer, like I do.

Sure being a big body building man is a woman’s dream, but it’s not really reality.

You don’t need high levels of testosterone to act like a man, You need to have discipline and respect to act like a man.

I have both, I have suffered throughout life and I swim through the bullshit life throws at me.

A man is mentally tough, not just physically, physical stature means nothing.

And Incase you try to google my disorder, I’m 115 pounds at 23 years old, I nearly died in 2009 because I was so under weight, at the point that I was on Nasal gastric feeding tube for two years, I was fighting for my life at 12 years of age.

To have gone through something like that, something that traumatic while also going through other things such as abuse from Step family, shows the amount of fight I had in me.

I’m more man than the guys with the big muscles.

If I had to choose, I’d prefer men of today. I respect and appreciate the sensitivity of men today and the willingness to share responsibility in a more egalitarian partnership.

No one is perfect by any means but I love my modern man and no older, traditional or old fashioned man has yet to compare.

But I also understand where you are coming from as well. It’s still important for men to have strength and positive masculinity.

I think men are more influenced by women than they’d like to admit. We can command a man to act just by the way we act. We have to make it clear that we as women are not their mothers and we will not act as such.

A man is still responsible for his own life. We command them to rise up and be adults by the boundaries we enforce as well.

I would say it's more complex then that and the ideal type of a feminine guy as preferable depends on where you are. I'm Swedish and our government really has a modern man as you describe as something good as well as the mainstream media. I agree that masculinity shouldn't be treated as something bad and the term refers more to the consequences of masculinity not necessarily the traits per se. I mean many leaders of the movements are strong-willed men. It's become toxic when the methods to achieve the traits goes through violence or bad behavior that hurt others. Or that you are expected to show no weakness which eventually can leads to serious bad mental health and in worst case suicide or murder. For me I think that every person needs both the masculine and femine traits to cooperate and fill up the bad parts of their traits as femine traits also can have consequences. I think that it's funny that some Feminists antagonize masculinity but on the same gets a turn-on to badboys. I mean if you want to change the behavior don't reward them then you are just a part of the problem and just proves your opponents right.

The most frusting part is when people who misunderstands the meaning with the concept and just see masculinity as 100% bad thing and feminity as straight out good on every dimension. It's better for corporations if men can be homosexualised soy boys, because they can be moulded into consumerist sheep, and in return dismantle healthy sexual relations between men and women.
