BF said he loved me for the first time during sex?

We've been together officially for 5 1/2 months, though know each other for a few years and have been hanging out multiple times a week for a year or so. Last night, he took me out for dinner & icecream afterwards, insisting on paying despite it being his birthday because he 'wanted to take me out and treat me to something special'. Afterwards, we went to his place to watch a movie which pretty much means to sleep together.

He was really passionate, though made it nice and slow because he knows that's how I like it best. Many times throughout the night he'd asks me to kiss him while having sex, tell me I'm gorgeous, etc.. We've been sleeping together for months. At one point around the middle of intercourse, he was on top and sort of muttered under his breath 'I love you'. Neither of us have said that yet. I heard it, but didn't' want to call him on it in case it was a slip of the tongue so I just pretended I didn't hear.

My question is, could him saying that mean he actually loves me?

Should I bring it up with him or dismiss it as just a slip of the tongue?

It sounds like he really does mean it. He is doing that stuff for you, obviously he cares quite a bit. But saying it during sex makes it sound like that's why. Since you're 18-24, he might still be in that "teenage mode" where guys say I love you and don't mean it. I'm not sure. Don't say you love him until you know for sure. Trust yourself first, maybe talk about getting married having kids or something serious like he future to see his input. That's how I would find out.

Yeah, he loves you:) Man becomes very vulnerable after sleeping together and mostly after, they mean what they say :)

Yes. bring it up with him. As a guy, believe me; he means it. But before you say anything, ask yourself whether you feel the same way; and what your response will be if you find out he's serious.

I do feel the same way, though I'm sort of scared in case he said it by accident which will put me in a pretty embarrassing situation lol. I do think he cares for me a lot but... do you think it would work if I just wait a week or 2 and see if he might say it outside of the bedroom? Or is that not very likely for guys to do that when saying it for the first time?

I suggest that you try going on a date with him, something simple like a movie or out for dinner, and then see what he says after it's over. If he just says something like "See you later" or anything similar, then you know. But if he says those three special words again, you got your answer.
