He's shy around me... but confident with everyone else?

This guy I kinda talk to completely shuts down around me but he's not that way with his friends or other girls. He's always staring at me and watching almost my every move... especially out at parties. But he won't come speak to me, instead I have to speak to him and he'll barely talk.

When other girls approach him at parties he seems chatty. We also have a class together and I always catch him staring or he'll text me to get my attention... but never can hold a face to face conversation.

What's all of this about? Why is he so shy and quiet?

He is not shy, except for women he likes romantically. Shyness is not a reflection of you or his level of attractiveness to you. It is just his social skills in certain situations, such as talking to a woman he likes face to face, suck and he knows it.

He is shy and he likes you. Not only does this make his anxiety level rise when he is near you (like practicing a speech vs delivering it to a crowd), but he most likely doesn't have the social skills needed to compensate.

Try simply being around him, maybe flirting a little. Don't make him feel like he needs to carry the conversation, don't make him feel bad if there are long pauses, and believe me there will be. Many shy men feel judge by women when they aren't Mr. Suave, you need to show him you don't care about that and you enjoy spending time with HIM.

One more thing, many shy men in these situations do not realize that a woman is interested (even if it is evident to everyone else), and if they do they have no idea how to handle it. If you want something to happen with this guy you may need to consider making the first move and asking him out. Don't worry shy guys love it when a woman they like asks them out it takes SO much pressure off!

He has had recent bad experiences with girls, you can bet. He has to be handled with care right now. Try to draw him out about his recent experiences, and you'll understand why he is this way

i have a similar situation. i think now that he likes me but just nervous becuase he seems confident around others and i did nothing wrong to him so i think he does like me.
