Why did my crush call me ugly?

I've liked this guy for so long. It was afterschool when me and my friends were hanging around on the school grounds and they decided to tell him that I like him. He said 'ok' and then saw me and said 'your ugly' I answered back saying and 'you are too,' he then said 'then why are your friends saying that you like me', i said 'its not true' and he just said 'ok'. he's always sending mixed signals, one day he's making conversation and approaching me giving off all the signs that he likes me and the next he'll be flirting with his ex and ignoring me, but calling me ugly, that hurt me a lot. I really like him and my friends told me he only said it because his friends are there

Girl don't even waste your time with this boy. If he's calling you ugly then he's just a big jerk for saying that. Find a guy who won't call you ugly and will call you beautiful and will not give you mixed signals and respects you. I bet you're very beautiful, your crush just doesn't see it. Also, I know how you feel because one time my crush had called me ugly and it just broke my heart inside when he said that but after that I didn't even waste my time with him, I just moved on. You need to grow a backbone and get some self respect and dignity. At fourteen I never chased behind guys who attempted to insult me and treat me like I was less-than. Hell, at 14 I was chasing after guys at all, they chased me. Get a crush on someone who's actually worth crushing on.
