What do guys think about girls who cut themselves?

I suffer from depression and cut myself time to time to deal with it. I keep it well hidden and try to appear happy. I have only told a few people about it. I have not told my boyfriend yet because I am afraid of how he will act. Do you think I should tell him and if so how? Also guys what would you think if you found out your girlfriend is depressed and cuts herself? How would you react and would you think differently of her?

I can tell you are really depressed on your self, your life and everything. Cutting your self means you have lost hope and low self-esteem; there is no sense of believing in your self-it's Zero.When you feel this and you do suffer from this! that is why you cut your self, I know it is a full of depressed feeling, sad and disappointed in life. You cut mean you hate and attempting to suicide. But when you cut, it will likely make you to be more serious to attempt to hurt your self in the future, and cutting your self is actually make you the more hate your self. If the more you hate your self, others will less likely to like you. Don't make this reason for you to lose your loves one. You do not want it right? Someones love and care for you, why don't you at least love your self? Believing your self, understand your self, learn to accept you weakness, love your imperfections, and embrace your uniqueness. How hard is that? It's from your self. And what is the point you cut your self than believing in your self? the happier you feel when you believe in your selfl is much meaningful rather than you cut every time you depressed. Set faith in your heart, believe, trust, accept and appreciate. Love your self and say it's ok for every mistake you done, give your self a chance to do much better in life, why don't you take chances to be much better, at least to feel better for your self?

your not helping anything, your just making things worse and hurting people you love !

3 of my bestfriends were cutters, over stupid stuff like guys .

they thought there life was so bad, when it really wasn't .

and they turned there life around .

and guys find it like a turn off, like they might actually think your nuts .

my one ex boyfriend's ex girlfriend used to do it .

and he dumped her cause she thought she was crazy .

Im not crazy and the last thing a cutter needs is for someone to think they are and dump them.its just not cool.

Depends how much you trust your boyfriend. If he really does care about you, I think he'd be willing to help you through this.

I myself am depressed so it would be easier for me to accept a girl who is depressed and cutting herself. I wouldn't be mad or anything, id tell her I want to help any way I can. Id try and get her into councelling and get some medication maybe. If cost was an issue, id deffinetly help out with that if I truly cared about her. I might think differently of her, but not in a bad way - id make an extra effort to try and keep her spirits up when I'm around

i would think differently but in the sense that I'd want to help her get some help with it. I don't want my girlfriend to hurt herself or do some permanent damage to her body. and if he cares about you he'll probably have the same reaction

u need to try and open up to someone who can help you with this its not good :(

Idk the next time you guys are talking just tell him that you have something pretty important that you need to admit to him..if he cares he will try to understand and listen and hopefully help you if he can or get you help :)

i really wish you good luck and even if he doesn't understand please don't hurt yourself anymore! get the help on ur own if you get because its really important

My girlfriend did cut herself when she was in middle school. At first I took it as a turn off, but she has showed me how she changed her life around. Plus in all honesty she is wild in bed and once I saw that it relieved my mind as to her being depressing and crazy. The good thing for you to do is to became a more positive and more active person. Only then can you prove that those cuts were only a phase!

The thing is no matter what I do I cannot seem to get out my depression I try to be happy and positive but nothig works. Most of my friends family and teachers have no idea of my depression and cutting, on the outside I appear fine.

So her being good made you want to stay with her even though she cut?? that's kind of shallow

Lol no I was giving an example. How a person is in bed determines WHO they are. Whether they're aggressive, timid, or even angry. Now I WAS in depression as well. But what made me change my mind was I found something I did better than most people and it gave me something to work towards.(fixing and building stuff). I'm not telling you to go have sex, because that is wrong till you want it. I'm telling you to go out and TRY new things. You may find something you really enjoy and can do well.

The thing I do very well causes most of the stress in my life but without it I would be even more lost without it.

Well I myself cut and I'm a guy I have a girlfriend that cuts I love her even if she cuts I don't know if that's because I cut but every day to show her that I car I kiss her scars
