U kiddin me, do not let him pick you up. My mom went out on a date once and the guy started driving towards a secluded area. She demanded that they drive back and the guy just kept driving faster, ignoring her. It freaked her the hell out, she opened the door mid drive and threatened to jump out unless he turned around.
Just a little true story that happened to my mom. This was a guy that an acquaintance introduced her
Play it safe, drive yourself and stay in public.
Better to be safe than to make a mistake that you'll regret for the rest of your life. If he's a decent guy he'll totally understand and won't try and force the issue. A good guy with good intentions will know that there will be plenty of other opportunities to drive you around.

If you're not going to drink, drive yourself, or you can tell him to pick you up I mean you have your phone right, I've been guilty of letting strangers pick me up (maybe once) haha but trust your instincts!
Do not let him find out where you live until you get to know him a lot better. You should drive yourself, meet in public, and tell someone where you are going and who he is. Safety first.
I think you should drive yourself. You don't know him and want to be able to leave when you're ready not when he decide to drive. Plus that way he won't know where you live.
