Do Guys like talking on the phone?

I'd rather not get into specific details because I don't want to digress, but the last guy I dated said he didn't like talking on the phone (we had phone calls, he just didn't like them). And one of my guy friends recently told me he also doesn't care to talk on the phone because he's on the phone all day at work. So I would like to know, is this a popular thing, guys having no interest in talking on the phone when they can just text? Aside from my friend, in a general sense, I would think guys would want to call the girl/guy they like, as its far more intimate. You can hear their laugh, their inflections, their pauses, their tone, you can get nervous and flustered, so I would ASSUME one would be after that sort of connection. Or is talking on the phone old fashion these days? Guys why do you like talking on the phone to someone you like? OR Why do you NOT like talking on the phone to you like?

No way. I despise talking on the phone and always have. I end up zoning out and miss half the conversation, just pretending to follow along with 'uh uh' and 'yeah'. I don't get why women are so into it. Its incredibly boring.

I like to keep my conversations short and my woman understands. When we're together in person I can talk for hours but on the phone I feel like my life is draining away.

I HATE talking on the phone and it doesn't matter who with. I just do. Can't really explain why. I'll avoid it whenever and every time I can. But that's just me, it just depends on the guy, some do, some don't. I do believe in general though girls like it more than guys do, but I also think women just enjoy talking period more than guys do.

that's how it was few years ago... but now, i feel everyone prefers texting. and to set up a time to meet... if you want to talk in person.
I also enjoyed talking on the phone over texting if someone I liked was far away from me and could not meet.

If i want to talk , much prefer face to face , don't forget expressions & body language are key parts of communication , not fond of phone contact , would far rather email / communicate online when dealing with organisations , at least I have a record of the conversation. Men do talk less , often much less , than women do , we are differently wired.

No, I don't haha. If I'm starting to seriously date a girl I'll tell her sorry if I seem distracted if on the phone, it's because I don't like talking on the phone. I text like crazy tho. Literally the only time I call my parents is in the car/their birthday lol.

I much prefer talking person. I only have my phone to check emails and lookup stuff. The purpose or calling or texting is to setup a time to meet up. Having a full conversation gets boring when you can't see them.

I'd rather talk on the phone than text. I am somewhat nervous if I don't know them well and I am interested in them over the phone though. Bf/gf over the phone I think is the best you can be flirty and joke around and hear their voice :D

Holy sht this is my 1st time on this site but you can just tell all these guys in the comments never had a real interaction with a girl. As a male (30yr/m) I notice the guys in my friends circle that call girls get tons of actions and only the incels geeky guys hate talkin on phone and text instead. Me personally i text only to flirt but if I really like or care bout a girl I call her ccuz i want to hear her voice. dafuq is wrong with young men now a days. just... wow...
