Why don't some guys kiss during casual hookups?

My guy friend who can be a bit of playboy when single says he doesn't kiss any girls he casually hooks up with on the mouth and reserves that for when he's seriously dating someone.

As someone who's kissed a lot of guys but not had sex with them as I see sex as much more intimate than just bumping lips, this opposite mentality is interesting to me.

Why no kissing? Anyone else out there like that?

It is because different people have different interpretations and projections of intimacy, which manifests itself in different expressions of intimacy and other decisions in behavior (when it comes to dealing with others)
Some people see sex as nothing intimate at all, and reserve kissing for loved ones, some people will have sex AND kiss, yet reserve hand holding or cuddling for loved ones, etc etc... The list and examples go on and on.
