People think my boyfriend is gay?

So recently I found out that some of my friends were hanging out without me and they discussed how they think my boyfriend is a closeted gay.
Ever since I started dating him, I have been the happiest I have ever been. He's sweet to everyone, smart, caring, and is insanely respectful towards women and gender equality in general. He is very close with his family- his relationship with his little sister is unbelievable and his parents are almost like his best friends to him. I feel the safest when I'm with him.
But around other people, even though he's still the same caring and sweet guy, he jokes a lot about being gay for his close friends, and sometimes that worries some people (the friends do it back though, and they are also in heterosexual relationships). Even though his friends reciprocate the jokes, my friends have only worried about him being gay.
If it's any help to the question, he almost is always the one who initiates sexual acts with me, and we do lol.
What do you guys think?

I'm guessing he is just joking around with his friends. It's just a non-homosexual bromance-- strictly "no homo." It doesn't mean anything, but if you're not in the loop of the joke, it can easily be misinterpreted. By joking about being homosexual, they are trying to show how secure they are in their own heterosexuality... Probably because it can seem like it goes a bit far at times.

People do it on this site too. Take for instance, @Chico_Brah. He's made a joke before about actually sending "rear glute spreads" to dudes on here before. If you looked at his comments, you may be like "holy crap, that is pretty gay." I'm pretty sure at some point, there were people who commented confused about his posts and stuff, thinking he was gay. But in context, it's all a joke. I'm pretty sure he is straight, and it's not meant in a literal homosexual way. Part of the joke is about going exaggerated lol

So yeah, I doubt you have anything to worry about. Your friends probably just misinterpreted things.

it doesn't sound like he's gay to me. but it doesn't mean he isn't. being polite, courteous and close with his family are no indications that he is gay.

yeah i was just wondering if that had anything to do with why he's a bit flamboyant (not like super flamboyant, just a tiny bit), because he's so close to his mom and sister?

i don't really think being close with his sister and mother necessarily makes him flamboyant. i think it has more to do with his personality. perhaps he just doesn't see flamboyance to be associated with any sexual orientation... do you get any indication that he may be gay?

other than the stereotype of having all males associated with musical theatre are gay, not really. He does musical theatre but also other sports and activities too (he kinda dabbles in a little bit of everything).
