Do some guys use their female friends for an ego boost?

I don't think the guy I like has ever used me as an ego boost. He has a close female friend that is married. When they are together, she showers him with compliments. Basically she just constantly strokes his ego and then he seems to calm down.

There was even a time he got another lady friend to be his wing woman to get me to like him more. She sat beside me and started saying all these ego boosting compliments to me as he stood behind us listening. It seemed to boost his confidence around me too.

Does this type of stuff happen a lot?
I know guys are all about their ego.

It's biology. If a woman sees that other women are complimenting and admiring a man, they'll also be more inclined to be attracted to him. If he's doing it, it's because he does want to feel confident but also because it showcases to other women that he is desirable to women. Biology.

seems a little over the top.. he shouldn't need that much praise to be confident.. this should be a red flag for you that the guy is needy and fragile.. if you are ok with that then go for it but if you don't want that burden then move on from him he sounds high maintenance

if they are that close you may not know what they talk about.. what kinda married woman showers another man with praise? he is either asking her or she is into him
