Guys, Guys why do you rev your engines at girls?

like why? if i'm walking by myself or with a friend or whoever outside on the sidewalk and a vehicle with a guy or more drives by or is near me/us, every single one of them will just purposely rev their engine and make their muffler rip once they get near me/us but wouldn't do it as much or at all if there were no girls near or by them. i don't get it one bit; it's not attractive, it doesn't turn girls on, and it's definitely not a way to "pick chicks up". every single time when guys do this to girls, it makes 100% of girls think "that's so not attractive" , "that won't get him a girl" , "you're not impressing me/us" , "why tf do you keep doing that?" , "you must think you're so cool when you're really not" , and so on.

so, can somebody please explain why you do this when you see girls cuz i honestly don't get it and it makes no sense to me at all...
