Why do guys compare themselves to your exes?

Like why do they ask simple questions about ur ex like "what kinda car did he drive" "did he play video games?" "Did he watch football"? The guy I'm talking to asks these questions and I never understand why and I don't wanna ask because I figured he'll get defensive or something.. I don't ask questions about his ex.. so why does he ask about mine?

comparing themselves to your future boyfriends is really hard. they want to be what you like so they look at the people that you have dated in the past and are trying to take out the best of those people for you.

Because he is afraid that he is not good enough for you abd you will go back to your ex. He just want to be better than him and better for you. He loves you.
