Can I ask a guy to netflix and chill?

My new guy of 3 months has been having a bitch of a month. Like seriously, its been super bad. I hate being agressive and ususally let him "come to me" and make all plans.

His son is causing him so much stress. I'd love to see him but also don't want to add to his stress. Would it be totally too forward to text him amd propose after his son leaves for an event this evening for me to bring over some sushi and nextflix and chill for a few hours in the boys absence? I mean, he needs destressing. Too forward? Do I come off as chasing or deaparate?
