What do guys think about intelligent girls?

Question

Most of the time guys make fun of intelligent girls in class. They keep calling them nerd and most of intelligent girls I know are single! But I personally think guys like intelligent girls but they don’t feel confident to get along with them. I was curious to know what do guys really think!

Guys are idiots in highschool. They don't even understand what they're feeling yet. Girls mature faster with their feelings about a year or 2 year difference in levels of maturity. But you should just know that once you get out of highschool, the nerdy girls are the ones guys are gonna go after. A niche has started. Doesn't matter why people act like dicks and jerks. There will always be people like that in life, guy, girl, or whatever gender you identify with. Just ignore them and focus on yourself, then once you come out, guys will flock to you. It's a weird Murpheys Law thing... once you stop looking and start focusing on other important things is when the guys start coming up to you.

So, stop focusing on guys, and focus on your life. But keep an eye out for those guys that DO come up to you. And keep their number handy.

I relate with this wayyy too much! It happens in lots of my classes but mostly my science class. This hockey player dude in my class always called me a nerd and stuff and make fun of me and poke my buttons and I was and definetly am still single. I don't know why guys dont talk to me at school. Like i know how to talk even when im not in class but i guess they dont see me that way. I really wanna know why as well! Im really nice gernerally so I don't know whats up. Maybe they get the inpression smart girls are shy and quiet and are boring. I was wearing a thrasher skateboard shirt and another guy in my science class called me out and told me i can't wear it cuz i dont skatebaord. Funny thing is I've skated for like 3 years lol he was really surprised by that

Depends on the guy, I find some guys like an equally intelligent woman who they can converse with on a expansive level without having to dumb it down, whereas some guys like there women to be a little on the blonde side so they can feel inferior to them.

I prefer intelligent girls honestly. I would rather spend time with someone that I can have a deep, long, and intelligent discussion or argument with over someone I have to turn part of my brain off to understand. I also think you are right about those guys that are teasing intelligent people. They are probably not confidant or emotionally secure enough concerning their own intelligence to try and get along with someone that is more intelligent than they are.

I respect intelligence in both genders and typically require it in a partner. I prefer nerdy intelligent girls who enjoy similar hobbies to my own and can keep a conversation with me. I like conversation that makes me think a lot, so I'd love having an intelligent female friend/partner to discuss ideas with.

Well, in my prospective and opinion. I wouldn't mind having an intelligent girl as my girlfriend. Because of the benefits of having interesting conversations and talking in depth about any subject really establishes a great sense of communication and trust to lay the foundation of a relationship. But unfortunately nowadays the majority of men rather date a girl whose a like model than intelligent girl because it's "easier" to comprehend and not feel an "intellectual minority" as a man. Guys often make gun of intelligent guys to so there is nothing special about making fun of smart girls.

Guys tend to like smart girls, buy you can't just be smart; your personality has to be good to, and you have to look decent (in most cases).

Of course I need to be with a commensurate intelligent woman. BUT I can't say it enough, with intelligence one needs equal humility. Some of the highest IQ people I deal with have total humility. The ones that are average are always shoving how smart they are down my throat. I want a woman with a lot of activity upstairs, but she knows how to manage it well.

Everyone smart gets called nerd. It's not meant to belittle. Don't get hung up on it.

Intelligent people tend to be more anxious. Intelligent guys and girls generally keep more to themselves and will have hard time connecting. Average guys and girls who are often more outgoing are more likely to find themselves in relationships -- through brute force by meeting loads of people if nothing else.

My girlfriend is a total nerd! She reads medical books for fun, even multiple editions of the same book. I find it hot and love when she knows everything; I can just ask her whenever I have questions about anything medical related. Maybe I just have a thing for nerds, though, because even though she does modeling and makes herself look posh, I much prefer when she just ties her hair in a bun and wears her giant dorky glasses.
