My boyfriend bought me a promise ring and said it was real when it's fake - why?

he told me it was real.turns out he bought it for $13.He said it was expensive why would he lie about something like that? I don't care if it's real. He said it was $100 but I seen online where he got it being nosy that it was $13.

Why do guys lie about things like this makes no sense. I mean why lie about it I am just glad I got a promise ring.

lol...I am trying to figure out the same answer to this question. My boyfriend lies about the most meaning less stuff. But it's always the small stuff that counts right? Maybe your boyfriend though in this instance was embarrassed that he couldn't afford something better for you? If he has money...then discount my comment please cause I just don't know. hahahaha

ya he has money he spent more on my parents for Xmas than he did for my promise ring.i know that shouldn't matter but still kinda does.

tbh, its the thought that counts, doesn't matter if its $1 or a $1000 he still likes you. maybe he thought that you mite think he was cheap if he told you the real price.

Just wondering why you would check up on how much it cost anyway?

Wow...still? Figured that would've passed long ago. They figure telling you something cost 'x' amount, that it would show you another extent of their feelings. Regardless if their feelings are true, or not. Just the fact that they spent 'x' amount will flutter your head.
