Why would he randomly send me a picture of us together? Am I overthinking this?

Hello, so there is a guy I've had feelings for for a few months now. I started to give up, because we live a few hours apart but he seems to be reaching out more now. For instance, I didn't message him for a week during our break, as I'm usually the one that iniaties the conversations, but he sent me a message to see how my break was going. Then yesterday I asked how his first day back to work was, and he told me, then he randomly sent me photos of us from a couple months back (it's the only phots of us together), and just said "btw, I don't know if I ever sent you these photos." Am I overanalyzing this or does he seem interested?
Why would he randomly send me a picture of us together? Am I overthinking this?
