Yeah sometimes when I was doing something on my phone I absentmindedly hold the door for other people to come through, and they usually say "thanks" and I would routinely smile and nod. Problem is, it happened three times to this same girl and now she thinks I'm interested

It's a kindness mean to colour him as respectable and attractive to women. Primarily.
It's not like you can't do it at other times, but that's the main focus of it. Just doing it all the time is a good way to stay in the habit and have it reflect well on you and maybe you get lucky and an attractive woman notices you do it for someone else without you realizing and she responds positively to that.Yeah guys have held doors for me, and it's the sweetest thing you could do for a stranger. ☺️
It's called courtesy. A respectful gentleman does it it for others (such as elders, handicapped people, children) aside from women. He doesn't do it purposely to be "show-off-ish" and doesn't expect anything in return.
Opening doors for people esp women and the elderly is something that has been engrained in me since I could walk. I think it's a great way to just show a little kindness throughout the day.
Yeah.
And when a group of men hit a door here it’s like a contest to see who holds the door for everyone.I like when a guy holds the door open for me but I also hate being the first person in a group to walk into a building so It's a lot of confusion there.
I let girls through first, then younger guys/seniors, unless I know its dangerous or she's scared then I'll take point or rear if its a group and we need one
I usually let everyone in my group and anyone who is close to the door when I get there enter or exit first.
It's just something that we were taught is considered polite.
I al waa says let a woman go first , I don't just do it for women but for men as well.
