GUYS, why would a guy see me and then pretend not to see me?

Whenever we were walking along this corridor in work place, he would pretend to be fiddling with his phone or stuffs and basically pretend not to see me.

I want to know the reason why guys do this sort of thing. Why couldn't he just say hi or something?

We are coworkers. One day before he appeared in my work place and stayed there in my sight of view. As I was busy, I only waved to him. I can't see any reason to him to pretend not to see me the next day.
