Guys, what are signs you aren't interested in a girl anymore?

I'm not sure if this guy is shy or just not interested anymore. Before, he was trying to be around me and he often smiled at me. My friend thought he liked me too because he was obvious. But the other day he didn't say hi even though I'm sure he saw me. He kind of seems to avoid me now.

However we recently talked to each other again about a project, we locked eyes during the whole conversation, he wasn't smiling but when I smiled at him he smiled back and I could tell it was a genuine smile because his eyes were shining and he had crinkles around them. But that's it. When he left his face was neutral again. Does he seem like a guy who lost interest or am I overthinking? Just wanted to be sure, thank you :)

I ask, as sometimes a guy who likes you, might hear you are seeing somebody or think you aren't interested for some reason, and start ignoring you then.

I'm single and I'm not dating anyone. I think he is aware of it...

The other day a female friend of mine mentioned another guy's name (a former project partner/friend I'm out of touch with since a year) asking how he is doing. The guy I like overheard it but I didn't notice a change in his behavior right after that though. He seemed to be fine.
Do you think the conversation about the other guy ruined it? :(

No, I don't think that would be enough to ruin it. Just find a way to talk to him, and you might find everything will be ok.

I would slowly break off contact. Ignore her messages. Alternatively, tell her straight that I'm no longer interested in her.

Sounds like your overthinking. There are so manys reasons for a person to not smile. If you two get along I would say thats a very good sign
