Why is it fine to call women "Guy" "bro" "man" "dude" or "Boi/y" but its not okay to call a man "Gal" "sis" "woman" "dudette" or "girl" ?

I just want to know... like... most women couldn't care less if someone called them any of the terms in my title wether its "Hey dude" "yo bro whats up" they don't care. But if you call a man "hey sis" "yo gal hows it going?" They lose it. With the risk of sounding like a huge misandrist which is not my intention, but do men just really hate being seen as feminine or something? or am I missing something?

It's not just that men don't like to be seen as feminine; women don't like men who are feminine either. No one does. Yeah because hating on femininity is the problem. If society as a whole stopped seeing femininity as a weak and fragile thing then no one would have a problem with it. I for one am attracted to feminine men but I know many women that aren't. Masculinity is clearly praised more in our society... People even think that women are too hurt to hurt a guy and that if she hurts a guy then he is weak which is bs. I always tell off girls at my school who hit boys and think its weak if they cry, cause its wrong to hit people regardless of gender, and neither gender is weak.

LoL I think it would be funny if you just started calling guys those names... “especially if they call you male names”. But yes, it’s sort of just a double standard. Guys don’t do it on purpose, it’s just how we are used to talking...
but then most guys are very sensitive to being called feminine, that’s like the ultimate insult to a guy.

Well... we like to feel masculine, it’s just natural. But also it’s a bit of a social construct. We are taught from the time we can walk to act tough, act like a man, don’t show emotions, etc. etc. also most women like masculine men... so we just tend to develop the view that being feminine is weak or unattractive.

Because society sees masculinity as the norm and femininity as something strictly female and qualities that should not be prided for male. It sees it as somehow weaker.

Personally, I would think it’s odd, but I wouldn’t think much else about it.
