Why does my boyfriend try to make me insecure?

A little background, I'm a pretty attractive girl, who is ambitious. I get male attention and guys never just want to be friends with me. When we first met I was so confident, and he was pretty insecure even though I reassured him that I was only into him. But as time went on, he keeps trying to make me jealous and insecure, always mentioning other girls and making "jokes". When I ignore him, he tries so hard to make me notice him, sometimes taking out my AirPods, or talking in a loud voice and repeating the joke several times. Now I started to realize I'm really insecure and get jealous easily, and the confident person I was once before isn't there anymore. Why does he make me so jealpus?

He is trying to radiate his own insecurities onto you. He thinks as long as you think you have options other than him and that you are pretty attractive, there's a chance he could lose you to some other guy. If he tries to get you insecure, you will feel as if you're lucky to have at least some guy beside you

This is absolutely toxic. You are worth so much more than that. Please don't let yourself get stuck in that. If he doesn't understand your value, there are other guys out there that will treat you right. I know when you have feelings for a guy, it can feel like he's the only one you'll ever have feelings for, but it isn't true. You owe it to yourself to be with someone who will love you. What your current boyfriend is doing isn't love.
