And that is exactly the problem with those violent games. Virtual violence calls for real life violence. It is a vicious circle.
People search in video games a way to escape violence of the daily life and some, actually a great number of the players are unable to differentiate fiction from reality.
It is sad that society accepts that this violence is natural and does not do anything to prohibit the use of those violent games. Those players that are into violent games are just exteriorizing their own violent behavior through the game.
My opinion is that your boyfriend should seek psychologic therapy in order to find out what causes for those outbursts of violence. As for you, this type of relation is a total no go and red flag.

Only real question here is why are you referring to him as your boyfriend and not your ex?
That's definitely not normal. It happens that you get angry at the game on occasion and swear but those moments shouldn't occur frequently. He's acting very immature for his age, and using you as an outlet for his aggression is wrong. You should not put up with that.
This guy has some red flags if he's acting like that. I'd leave Captain Caveman and move on.
