Why does my boyfriend keep eavesdropping?

I realized that whenever I'm talking to someone whether its a woman, male, family, stranger, or friend, my boyfriend is secretly listening. He tries to make it not obvious but I see it.

It's starts off him pretending to be quietly occupied across the room and i got a feeling he was listening but thought it was just in my head. I confirmed it a few days ago when he was standing across the room reading a paper while i was on the phone and i caught him taking several quick glances at me.

If you have issues with him hearing what you say, perhaps you shouldn't be in a relationship with him.
