Why would some girls leave their boyfriends for not getting violent unless he had no other option, even if he is a trained fighter? Could it be media?

Happened to friend of mine, maybe he had nothing else going for him and was boring I don't know. But several girls would get real turned on by past mma experience, and even have sex on night of first date. Eventually they would at some point leave just cause he ran into a few assholes along the way and wouldn’t get violent unless he had no other option. This is all what he told me. I know girls like guys who can protect them and that’s fine, but some are this extreme? Could it be the media or just a bad upbringing? I will also note that these girls are in their early to mid 20s.

They're shallow. Yes, women are instinctively driven to look for a protector, but women aren't unthinking animals driven only by their instincts. Some choose to be; some decide they won't settle for anything less a perfect match, who, on the off chance he DOES exist, likely has his pick of all the women in the world.

You see the same thing in men, though it's usually to a lesser extent. Most grow out of it.

I think those women my friend dated are rare. Shouldn’t the mma fight experience be enough?

Well, most women would (consciously or not) prefer a guy who can defend them, but not one who's a risk of being violent towards her. I suspect most MMA fighters are in the former group, but, well, I don't think I need to tell you how good our society is at teaching women risk assessment, especially when it's about men.
