Why does my man turn all affectionate and sweet to me after he sees a sexy girl on TV or in real life? Is he feeling guilty?

When my boyfriend and I used to sit and watch a movie, if a beautiful and hot girl would show on the screen he then instantly be all attentive like smiling at me and looking at me and holding my hand or touching my back or something, or a kiss, focusing all his attention on me. What does this mean? My ex husband did it too. It happened in public sometimes if someone was around that was showing a lot. Is this them feeling guilty, aroused by the other girl, embarrassed, interested in me instead, or a combination of those things? It's almost like he feels sorry for me or something. It seems sweet and all, and if they had a fleeting attraction because they know she's good looking and they don't want me to know and they feel guilty I would understand if they just thought she was hot or something and they didn't want to feel guilty while spending quality time with me? Is it a loyalty gesture mixed with him knowing he's attracted to something? Maybe they they think I would feel bad if I knew what they were thinking?
