Are you OK with men wearing pearls?

I firmly believe that we all have the right to wear whatever we want subject to local laws to express our individuality. However, men should avoid wearing accessories which are too delicate or can get in the way of doing things. I am by no means the authority on manliness however, it's my belief that men should wear necklaces only for certain purposes.
1. Religious affiliation - certain Hindu sects wear a thin red or black thread around their necks.
2. Dog tags or other ID - I know many army guys and even they dont wear, they carry their IDs in their pockets.
3. utilitarian - security keys, physical keys, or sensitive pendrives.
No ❤
Like accessorizing is a form of art to some people and make them feel good, if it dont harm anybody and Hey! go ahead and do it
@coolguyaesthetic - As I said I fully support anyone's right to wear anything as long as they are confirming to local laws, but what I said was my personal opinion.
Cool ig
before I retired I owned my families jewelry store that was located in a small town, and we did not sell them for guys to wear.
It is becoming a thing, not sure how long it will last.
That said thr diamond dealer that I delt with for years has hre own jewlery lind
e, and does stuff for guys.
She makes some pretty cool macrameblsck breclets with black pears in them that I am interested in.
Would I wear it at the firehouse, probably not, wouldn't want to get people ice on it, or wreck it, but going out and about I could work it into my rotation.
looks as bad as any other type of necklace/chain on a man xD.. haha.. I don't really care though, not a turn off, just blaah.. do what you like, I can look past it :)
I think pearls are nice, for anyone of any gender. A bit impractical for sports, but hey. If he likes them, go ahead.

I don't care what someone else does but I wouldn't, they just break so easily... hammered a few to dust before
I do have a nice gold and amethyst ring
I am seriously so jealous of that ring, I don't normally like jewellery but damn <3
It came my way purely by chance I was going to scrap it them have the stone put in a pendant for my mother but it fit so I've got it... I know the line goes it was bought new in the 1930's given as a 21st birthday gift to its first owner who always wore it and must have had it reshanked given the difference in gold colours and left it to my client when she died in her 90's then I bought it from the client who believed it was costume... I've turned down profitable offers to buy it because I can't be bothered looking for a gold ring to replace it at least for now
Thats kinda wild someone though it was costume, did you get it cheaper because of that or did you pay a normal price for it?
But yeah I'd probably just hold onto it if I was you, it looks really nice and even if you weren't for wearing it yourself it seems like someone that would be useful holding onto
Think it's the size of the stone as that must be 15-20cts, I paid a fair price for the gold because that was why I was buying, I'll probably hold on to it then maybe sell it but probably for enough to buy a great replacement if some offered or go down the pendant route
Though it does seem traditionally feminine to wear pearls, I don't see any problem at all for men to wear them. I like rocks, gems, crystals and the like so naturally I would be for that I think.
And in plenty Polynesian cultures you'll probably notice men wearing shell necklaces. Really, I don't see why pearls should be any different.
Agreed.
I accidentally push no but really I could careless what somebody else’s taste in jewelry is. For me pearls aren’t my thing and to be honest I don’t wear any jewelry not even my wedding ring. When I was young I wore some spiky rings only because when I got into a fight I’d bloody them all up pretty good but stopped wearing them at about 18 or 19
Men should stop being afraid of colors, unusual combinations and accessories. Being manly doesn't mean you have to be boring.
Well...
Well, I don't think it looks good, but then neither does more traditional male jewellery like gold medallions and big, expensive wristwatches - it just looks really tacky.
Whatever though - it's up to him.
I don't really give a care.. That's my libertarian side talking.
Are you wearing pearls right now?
No. I don't wear pearls
You should.
It looks weird if anyone under pension age wears pearls , whether they're a male female lol
Lisa is an exception
😂😂 i agree. She looks cool in her pears 👍
Lol honestly who cares what types of gem a guy wears..
Hey, it looks okay to me. Better than a big gold chain.
No worse than a gold chain.
No sure why anyone would wear crap around their neck in an athletic contest tho...
Personally I am okay with my manhood and I will wear whatever I want and not give 2 f**ks what anyone else thinks about it.
If we're being honest, aren't pearls really just high priced beads?
I suppose.
lol i don't give a damn. but if it's someone i know, i will make fun of them for wearing their grandmas jewelery.
What if the pearls were found hidden in your grandpa's sock drawer? And what if you found old polaroid photos of grandad posing in the mirror while wearing his pearls?
well nothing, cause my grandpa is dead. but if he was still alive, i'd made fun of him in the same way.
But what if grandpa bought you a little string of pearls of your own and it became a bonding experience?
well my granddad is not as ignorant about peoples feelings about things as you seem to be, so he wouldn't try that :P
I feel you have suppressed your true feelings. Usually people like you, those who come on here and act like a keyboard tough guy, are actually fighting the urge to wear pearls and frilly things. :) Gramps knew who you were that entire time you were growing up. He was just shy about opening up to you. Your grandfather was a very sensitive man. A great guy.
you need to learn to respect other peoples feelings and not try to force on them how you think they should feel.
You need to stop scolding me over obvious, lighthearted fun. You come off as a wacko by taking everything so seriously. OK, friend? :)
what? xD you just don't know me when i'm actually "serious" :D
Leave it to baseball players, who also still rock gold chains from the 80's... goombas.
Now now. No need for name-calling.
Not really :(
Personally I think people shouldn't care what others are wearing whether it be clothing or accessories.
I don't care what people wear.
He can wear a boot on his head and have the rest be a batman costume with fluffy slippers for all I care.
The Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball would never allow that though.
true, but it would be funny.
Shout out to this guy for wearing what he wants to wear! Pearls are a birthstone like any other. 👍🏾
That’s more like for the olden days back in the 1600’s. And only woman wear them to be fancy. Men? Now I find that a little odd.
I'll never understand the point of fancy jewelry on anyone.
