In my experience as someone with a real ring, not really. A lot of the younger guys don’t even think to look. It does however make it much more difficult for them to accuse you of lying if you are sporting a ring though.
I wear my engagement ring all the time and still sometimes men don’t bother to notice if I’m married or not. best way is to be straight forward and say I’m married/engaged and not interested.

From what I noticed women who wear fake wedding rings do so to keep the wolves away and in most cases it does but there are always those who just don't give a damn it class or respect or moral decency to respect her status and try to hit on her at way, I must say in my view a man who knowingly messes get involved with a married woman or one in a serious relationship is one of lowest, weather she's willing to cheat with you didn't mean you jump on it is well in my view morally wrong and not how a man should behave me know she's married or involved, I tell her to go home, work it out with her man, I would want same from another dude if my wife or girlfriend and i had a argument and she went out and was in that situation,
This is a weird one. And I have my own personal experience with it from When are you was a young man living in a pre-Juliani Manhattan. I had on a whim just started wearing a gold ring that I inherited from my grandfather who had recently died on my left hand because that's where it fit. Strangely enough I was immediately, literally within minutes, hit on by apparently available women. It was such a surprise. Took me a while to figure out the dynamic behind it. But it's really simple, A married man is less likely to try to turn a quickie little dalliance into a perfect romance.
I don't pay attention to the meaning of jewelry, because it is meaningless to me. If you're wearing a ring and you expect me to determine which finger you choose to put it on that day and extract meaning from it, well that's a bad judgement call by you. When I see a pretty woman, I'm not checking out her fingers unless they were blown off by a landmine or caught in a wood chipper... I don't value jewelry so it's not something I will notice at all unless you are wearing a lot of it. If you are laden with jewels I'd just think you were a moron, and be like I don't want to talk to stupid people so I'll steer clear of that one.
It will probably keep the good guys away the guys that are the ones you want to marry but the losers won’t give a shit only reason I would think you’d want to keep guys from hitting on you is if you’re in a serious relationship otherwise you might missed out on the perfect guy for you of course common sense would tell you this so you either don’t have any common sense or you’re asking this question for another reason because you can get a fake ring for next to nothing I’m guessing you’re in a serious relationship and are wanting to give your SO a nudge into getting you a real one if that’s the case then get a big fake ring so it will send a message not only for him to make it official but that he better come for real something with some weight
I sold them to young women like you for years based on that theory. It used to work. Now since no one has morals, deny God's existence , and deny Hell, it doesn't.
By the way , it is the opposite with men. If single men wears a wedding band , he actually gets more interest from women. The theory is that women like commitment. So they think this is a guy that will commit to me if he committed to someone else. They don't consider that if he leaves his wife for her that would not be to committed. I never understood women's emotional logic. They think the man that left another for them would never leave them for another woman.
To keep the good guys away. At least you’ll know that every guy who hits on you is scum. Although you’ll need to put the ring on the correct hand. Also most good guys don’t go around hitting on strangers out of the blue. So, it’s not much of a filter for that aspect.

Yes, but if a girl had a ring on for that reason, and then said she likes me, and that the ring is just to fend off creeps, I wouldn't believe her. I'd think she's actually married, and just wants to cheat, so I'd ignore her. So if you do want a guy, but are just trying to weed out creeps, be careful about your tactics.
It works for the guys that care and are looking for a long term relationship, if they are hitting you up hoping to get some, they won't care if your married or not cause they just want some and don't care.

Yes, my friend does that 😂 She has a ring that she usually wears on her middle finger, but when guys keep hitting on her she just replace it on the ring finger and when they see a ring, they back off 😂
I've heard of women who do this but also at formal events where elderly women who would otherwise be tempted to have a conversation with you about their grandson. A fake wedding ring avoids that awkwardness.
Let's break this question down some. If we are talking about hangouts and places like bars NO. If we are talking about Church YES. Do you have any idea the number of married women that cheat? 30+ years ago I would say maybe. Today, NO it generally won't work in fact there are many men that prey on married women taking bedding them as a challenge. Ladies, if you don't want to be hit on, go in a group or with a man. Otherwise stay long enough somebody is going to hit on you!
Never worked for me. I tried it when I was 18 or so. Even when I was working, I still got hit on all the time. Luckily, it was usually just flirting and not really outright asking me out/asking for my number.
I know a woman who in her 20's wore a wedding ring on purpose, she said more guys hit on her than without it. She also mentioned that most of them hitting on her were older married guys, and she was into older married guys who had money.
doesn't seem to keep women away from me. I even make it a point to play with my ring or talk about my family to make it obvious. Yet I've had single and married women give me their numbers anyway, without asking.
I never look at rings or anything. Women just wear jewelry, so it's not an indication of anything. I only look at attention, women getting men's attention is unattractive anyway, so if she's got guys talking to her then I don't bother.
So I think a fake ring would just make some guys give up, but give space for other guys.
