Because straight men like women, and it's normal for men to go years without a single date even if they do everything right. Women don't like men as much and are more ok with being lonely and single for life bc cats are actually cute
There are some insecure men who need validation but the guys approaching you in the grocery store are looking for sex, it's that simple. Don't despise them for it, they're just trying to reproduce (even if they don't know it).
