Guy's Behavior

He helps everybody out but not me even though he told me he's just a phone call away if I need help?

We broke up 5 months ago after nearly 2 years together. He wanted to stay friends and I accepted. He made sure to say we would "only be friends". He enjoys helping people out and is often doing work for friends and neighbors for free just to help them out. Now he told me he would have helped me change the tires of my car but he's busy putting in a new floor in one of the rooms of his house. I may well be the only person on earth he ever told he's too busy to help out. I'm not hoping to get back together, just wondering why he's doing this. And no, there is no other woman involved. He is looking for a new car for me and we will drive out together to look at a car. He also repeatedly told me he's just a phone call away if I need help. The reason we broke up is because he doesn't want a woman in his life. I haven't been pestering him for help ever, it's always been on his initiative.
