Does he still like me?

this guy i have never talked to had a crush on me earlier this year - i always caught him looking at me and my friends pointed it out too. however, i think he was avoiding me for a while because sometimes when i saw him in halls, he would just turn around and leave or i wouldn't see him there the next day. i assumed that he doens't like me anymore because i've been seeing less of him. today when i was leaving a lecture hall (last person to leave) he was standing outside the door and we were shocked to see each other and he instantly did this awkward spin thing and grabbed his phone and pretended to be looking at it. it was so awkward, i felt like i had a run in with my ex boyfriend. does his strange reaction mean anything?
