If a man says “I’m single but not sure if I’m looking for a girlfriend”, what does that mean? Might he be a bit of a player?

This is not a guy I’m dating, or wanting to date, I’m just wondering in general. Does it suggest player vibes?

It usually means he’s either wanting to flirt/sleep around at the moment, or he hasn’t found anyone that makes him want to have a girlfriend so far. Or maybe he just got out of a relationship and wants to be single

I don't think that makes him a player at all. A player would pretend they want a relationship just to lead someone on. I think a guy who says this is being honest about not wanting a relationship, and if a girl pushes it, he may hook up with her but that still doesn't mean he'll be ready for a relationship.

If a guy says this, take it at face value.

Take his word for it. Either he us a player or he is smart enough to know that he is not emotionally ready for one.
Anybody who gets into one and was emotionally stable enough, 99.4 % of the time, it ends, ... badly.

I'd say that the easiest way to tell is by how you see him chase you/other women. I don't chase women.
