Is it possible for a guy to not have sex right away?

I'm finally meeting my long distance guy, due to my life struggles we couldn't meet plus he has a disability so him meeting me couldn't happen. Now the time is about to come and my friends thinks he's lying that he's not going to have sex with me. He told me that, we won't do anything because we will finally be meeting each other and he wants to make it seem real by going out on dates and then officially meeting the family.
My friends thinks he's full of it, but they're only thinking that is because the guys they met wanted to have sex right away. I understand that majority rules but I don't know.

Yes it’s very possible. There are still good men out there that want to wait until marriage. I personally have met a few and also I don’t give time to the ones I know just want sex. It’s easy to spot the ones that want sex right away but the way thry treat you and how long they stick around. A real man who wants to actually get to know you and respect you will respect you

Thank you for this, we have been talking for a long time, he even buys me stuff and makes them into care packages and sends them to me. So already I can sorta tell he's a good guy, so it makes me believe him, I just wished my friends won't think it just because they met guys that wanted to do one night stands.

yeah i guess , sex doesn't necessary always happen early on when dating , some can wait longer especially if inexperienced

Thank you, well if he's telling the truth, he only had sex once and it was bad for him and he said he was 20 or 21 and he's 32 now.
