How long is too long of a relationship?

I was speaking with a male friend of mine and he has never been a huge commitment type of guy but he said he does want to start a family and have a wife and kids as his future/longterm plan. But once he is done his fatherly/husband duties, for example when their kids are old enough and move out he wants to divorce and continue to live his life out. He said he can do 20 years max and after that he wants to live his life on his own. Even if he loves his wife it does not chance the fact that 20 years is all he can do in a relationship. I was quite shocked but I’m not at all judging just surprised. I’m wonder if anyone one resonates with how he views his future?

Your friend is a dumbass and shouldn't bother getting married.
Marriage is not a try it and see what happens.
It's a mutual commitment before God and family to stick it out no matter what.
