Guy friend did something weird and it sort of bothers me?

i was talking to him at our local pub on Saturday , is this blonde who's worked there for several years , i know her fairly well and talked to her there many times before , so i'd say we have a fairly genuine level of a connection among us

but he doesn't really know her at all , only times i can ever recall him even interacting with her is when she'd serve him but she works at a bar so serves a lot of people

he told me that he randomly came across her page on instagram ( which is private and only has like 900 followers ) that he sent her a follow request but stated no real reason why? if he wanted to talk to her or view photo's or what exactly

i doubt she'll except his request but who knows , maybe he felt that since i know her she'd add him? but weird he'd feel any sort of connection to her as they've definitely never been close

That's a bit weird, him not talking to her in the bar but trying to scope her out on social. I mean, it's done probably pretty often, but he's also sort of out of line. She may not even recognize him. What if she just adds him because she wants more followers, and it's a regular thing for stranger guys to follow girls online.

Does it bother you because you like her, and you think he is moving in on her? Then maybe let him know that. He'll probably brush it off though.

Maybe go to the bar, by yourself not with him, and have a quick chat with her about it. You will get a lot more info about how she's feeling, and it will bond you two together more. His follow request means nothing. Just a drop in the bucket. (But keep in mind, she's got 900 so she's not selective in who follows her. Those aren't all legit friends. She may like the eyes; even his.)

i just though the whole thing was weird although common for more attractive girls to get random requests from people they barely even know in real life

doubt he views her as a realistic dating option if she were to ever be single again , he's 38 and she's 23 so i can't really see it happening anyways

true but she used to have more followers , i recall seeing her page before and it was just over 1000 now its gone down almost as if she removed some , i doubt she's looking to add random guys who barely know her from pub , she has a boyfriend

I get requests on Facebook and Instagram a lot. If I don't recognize them, I don't accept them. And I may not even accept them unless I actually know the person.

She wants guys to follow her and like her pictures. She just doesn't want to get aggressively hit on, or sent dick pics. That's likely what's going on.
Unless she went to a massive school, was part of a lot of groups, etc., it's really unlikely she knows 900 people.

she doesn't seem that social anymore , she works at a pub but doesn't seem to know many people , she doesn't ever come out after work to drink with friends , she'd still know a lot of people here , she went to high school here and was popular

we almost dated a couple years ago but she has a boyfriend now , were just like friends at that pub , never see her anywhere else

she's like 23 , he's 38 and doesn't even know her , so a little weird he feels there is enough of a connection to justify making this request especially when her page is private with few followers
