My ex followed me on Instagram, but has a new girlfriend?

So, my ex from like a a year and a half ago recently followed me on Instagram, but he has a new girlfriend. He was super obsessed with me in the relationship and totally lost it when I broke up with him. He remained obsessed with me until about five months after the breakup. He eventually went to college and found a new girlfriend, but why is he following me on Instagram? He also started following my tik tok and liked a tik tok of mine and likes my Instagram post. Is he trying to be friends now or something else?

If it bothered you he would be blocked, but you love the attention, and then act like you don't.
Most reasonable people would block an obsessive ex who lost it when you broke up. But I guess we will just ignore that.

I do love the attention, but I was fine with him after we ended things, so there was no need for me to block him. We didn’t reach out to eachother for almost a year until he then followed me on insta
