He doesn't text me first but then asked me out.. confused?

I've heard that if a guy isn't pursuing you he isn't interested. And I think that's true most of the time. This guy that I knew as an acquaintance (but always was open that he thought I was attractive) has recently been talking to me by text. But I am usually the one to start the conversation, although when we do talk he keeps it going and he initiated asking to go out for drinks and stuff.

He never texts me first though. Is this a bad sign?

With respect, you girls focus on the dumbest... I mean least important aspect of almost any given situation. The guy ASKED YOU OUT... and you are considering negating that by keeping score on who texts first? Doesn't that seem completely backwards?

It does sound like he's interested in you. I would go out with him once and then if he then continues to not text you first I would withdraw my efforts with him.
