he was drinking but he seemed sober-ish. he gave my friend a hand shake and then he did the same to me but he held on to my hand for a minute. should i think anything of it? he was drinking so maybe it was that

y’all he hasn’t talked to me or said hi since the hand holding thing, even if we would see each other in public, what could that mean?

Well it could be the alcohol, it could be he subconsciously found it appealing grabbing your hand. If he kept an eye contact on you, or your hand during that incident it's most certainly the latter. If not, then let's say it's a good 50/50 chance he was into you.

Word to the wise though, stay away from drunk people XP Most life-long regrets happen around them/alcohol generally.

@theresyourgravy I had a friend who was stoned after a weed cigarette, and he kept holding my arm though we weren't a couple Because he didn't want me to go anywhere except being around him XP This could be your case, even if it's mere "friendship".

@update: Well then it could mean you're just friends and he was just drunk/his normal behaviour, or he could be into you but he's just too busy. It could mean nothing really. If you're into him yourself, take an initiative and talk to him about what he's been up to recently, what he wants to do professionally in the future. Grab some lunch together and see how it goes.

I try not to touch people too much. Because you really don’t know how someone will feel about it. Even if they don’t say something you could be making them uncomfortable.

Because I’m like that myself. I don’t like just being touched by people. Unless I like them.

Sometimes young men feel the need to exercise their self confidence. As long as he was civil it would be safer to just enjoy the pleasant memory for yourself 😄. It sounds like you like him. That is a bit weird, even when drinking you shouldn't get too touchy with people you don't know. Even if he likes you, he shouldn't be getting too handsy too quickly. Probably just using alcohol as an excuse for poor self control and a lack of respect for women in my opinion.

I'm just being cynical and guessing he is doing some sort of passive aggressive thing and doing weird things and then later on getting annoyed that you are questioning why he is doing it. I prefer being straightforward when meeting people and doing unexpected things is just complicating things.

Maybe, maybe not. If he’s not shy and hasn’t made any effort to chat with you afterward he’s either busy or not into you. If he’s shy, you might need to initiate conversation and show interest in him first if you want to see where things can go.
