i’ve known this guy for about 4 years now. we used to go to the same college together but he transferred to a different school but we continued to keep in contact. throughout the following years we would be very flirty on text and sexy here and there and there would be days where we text like friends so not everything was completely sexually. we never met up during this duration to have sex but just co tinier to text and ft and even on ft we didn’t show our bodies off or anything. finally this past summer we met up and when i stayed the night with him we hooked up for the very first time. after that we continued to text and flirt and so on so forth. fast forward a couple days ago, it was my 21st birthday and i was throwing a hotel room party. he showed up to support me and he spent the night with me after everyone left. we had sex (this would have been our second time now) and then after confined to talk as usual. we both knew we were friends but talking but never had that kind of discussion bc we never thought it was that serious. two days ago, i get a dm from a fake page claiming that he has a whole girlfriend and the page proceeded to send me a screenshot of the girl’s page. the girl had a whole highlight of him and her from WEEKS back so i confront my friend and asked him if it was true. he denied even messing with this girl and that she’ll say they are together but he claims that they are not. after talking to him about it and him denying even dating this girl and mentioning that he has never had sex with this girl, i started having a weird feeling so what i did was i blocked him. on everything. i can’t shake the feeling that he was lying to me and honestly had no reason to as he and i are just friends and he’s known me for a couple years so he had no reason to lie. was i wrong for blocking him?

YOu are doing the right thing for sure. It is good that you are finding out about his lying on the front end. Usually, where there is smoke there is fire. This probably will not improve over time. You're smart and a good guy will be thrill to have someone with good judgment like you have !!

because i can’t shake the feeling that he lied about not dating her but no girl is gonna have a whole highlight of them two together and say they are dating when he claims they aren’t.

From my perspective, even if he had lied and I clearly picked up on it - knowing how long we've known each other - I would have stretched out the confrontation over time.
Just little questions here and there, no confrontational tone either, to maybe make him less defensive. But eventually, I'd get the answer.
