Why would the guy who rejected me now start putting kisses at the end of his texts?

I cut him off after he rejected me as he had been leading me on so we hadn't spoken in nearly 2 months. I then heard about some sad news that involved him so I reached out, and he started putting kisses at the end of his texts. He's never done this before and I've never seen him do it to anyone else, even with a previous girlfriend I've only seen him do it a few times, so why would you do it the first time we spoke after he rejected me?

As I said, we hadn't spoken since then but he had some sad news and I reached out to say I was sorry to hear about it and that I was thinking of him. Nothing wrong with that 🤷‍♀️

I understood that part, but your context makes it sound like since reaching out about the sad news you’ve been talking to him and he’s been sending the kisses. If that’s not the case then good for you, I wouldn’t bother with him at all.
