Do men prefer nice, caring women who can give them space?

I’ve been talking to a guy who is a pro fighter we started talking as he has been in camp so haven’t been able to meet up yet but have spoke everyday.
It was his fight yesterday so I wished him luck and how he will go and smash it, he replied with thanks baby can’t wait to have my life back don’t worry won’t be long till I see you.
He unfortunately lost his fight and was really upset about it so I messaged him a heart and he replied back with the same. I said to him I know whatever I say won’t make you feel better right now but you’ve got this and will come back stronger from this. He told me he was devastated but he will be back I told him how proud I am of him and he thanked me.

do guys prefer women like this? I just don’t want to come across as too much.

Thank you guys I’ve gave him a bit of space today as I knew he would be hurting. He messaged me not long ago to see how I was and said he’s still devastated and sore so I sent him a lovely message back. Feels good to know he comes to me x

You can do your best to show how YOU care, make judgment calls, and express your style of care to him, and you can also attempt to read what he'd recognize and appreciate as a sign of care,

BUT

at any point, or few points in time, you can also communicate and ask him what he'd need, or feels like he needs/ wants and maybe give options so he can pick one and know what you meant, or he can explain from there:

• like words of affirmation
• just being with him (company)
• space for him to breathe
• a balance of these^ ;-;
• a fun activity to loosen tensions for him
• maybe some way you can partner with him to make his goal a reality

literally anything.

The bottom line is, you can express YOUR love and care, and try to study his, but asking him will be the greatest sign of care and ensure you can better provide that at any time in the future circumstances.

Your questioning and wondering, is already a GREAT sign to me, that you care for him, and that warms my heart. Tell him directly at times too! The people we care for ought to know, no? What do I know :]

That's perfect. We generally aren't that much different from women when we go through tough times. We all need and prefer encouragement when we are down, especially from the people we care about. It helps more than you know perhaps, for a man to have a woman that believes in him.

I prefer women who are clingy and attention demanding, "too much" really isn't a thing to me because I only date women who share my interests and hobbies, so spending 24/7 together isn't going to take me out of my normal lifestyle.
