A guy friend of mine sexually and physically assaulted a girl in my friend group. The sad thing is, nobody of the girls is surprised, we are just shocked. This because he always made very sexually directed comments/jokes, but we thought he was just joking. He never did anything before this (beside some weird interactions, but non SA), but still not a single girl trusted him. however he was my friend. I just hoped my gut feeling was wrong and he would not SA someone. But a few days ago he did. Im not even mad, just extremely sad and dissapointed. I wished he didn't do it. He has protected me from SA multiple times, only to SA someone himself... WHYYY. I will spare you guys the details because it's gross and extremely shocking.

For the people asking, the girl did fight back and literally screamed she didn't want it she also wasn't wearing anything revealing. He had her all alone and used his power against her :/

Sorry i just had to vent for a little. I'm trying my hardest to help and support the girl, but it's all I can do at the moment and I just feel so powerless. I want him to get professional help and karma.

Sorry to hear that. I had a coworker who was the same way. I never would have guessed he was a serial rapist. But then again guys just talk a lot about sex so it’s not really an indication that they’re a rapist. So don’t lose faith in your male friends. If they suddenly have scratched on their face and tell you it was a bar fight or from gardening then be suspicious.

Thanks. Yeah well he did not just make many sexual jokes. I know he also offered money to girls to have sex with him and he tried to kiss me and hit me once, but then quickly laughed and said it was just a joke.. That was in public, so I do believe the girl since that happened privately. I'm not surprised he turned out this way and got exposed for this, just hoped my gut feeling was wrong.

Thank you for the advice, I am trying to convince her to press charges. She finds it very difficult and isn't sure yet if she wants to bc then she has to deal with many things. But I think she will eventually.

Yeah that's absolutely true. I did cut him off today. I don't want anything to do with him anymore. It just creeps me out to know that he had a rope (he used that to tie the girl up) in his bag. She can claim it. The police will call him to question him and find stuff. Ideally she should have gone soon as so they can find DNA evidence of his semen if any.
