It's a matter of gender a girl can have as many girl friends she wants. And as a guy we like you and have a little bit of hope of getting lucky or we like you a lot. The ring magically disappears from the ring finger.

I usually don't go around telling in people's face that I have a boyfriend ... I mostly just say that when I wanna get someone away from me who can't seem to understand a no lol
I would not mention that I have a girlfriend unless I was trying to halt some girls advances, or if I genuinely had something to talk about that involved her and where I wouldn't be discussing anything personal
Some feel that it is not necessary to tell unless women ask them. The rest just keep that info on purpose because they want to have a fling with other women which is pathetic.

Women vase their value on the quality of man they can attract. Also modern women are very vain and insecure. They constantly feel the need to brag that they get their legs spread by some random dude at that moment.
