This one time I was talking a guy and my friends asked to see what he looks like. After u showed them him, they said he was cute. So I told him my friends said he was cute. In response he said he was surprised they’d say that in front of me and asked to see what my friends look like.
Also this one time I told my boyfriend how I was struggling to get my sister to follow through on advice. Basically this guy lied to her and she forgave him and still went and had sex with him. When I told him he said he was surprised.
He brought it back up later on in the day, once again saying he was surprised. He then asked if my sister had an Instagram and when i was like yeah why, do you want to see her or something? He was like cause he never really saw her. So I showed him a picture but did not give up the instagram.
Why did he ask and should I be concerned? Why do guys ask to see what someone looks like?

In the first case it just seems fair. If you're showing him off to your friends it makes sense you'd show said friends off to him. Two-way street. I'd probably have asked the same. It shouldn't be a red flag or anything, just a common notion of equilibrium.
In the second one? It could be curiosity. After all knowing what your family looks like and asking when they're talked about is very fair game. That said probably not very smooth to do so when mentioning her having sex. Its bad enough I think you should tease him for it but not so bad as to worry. If there are no other signs he's looking around at his options I'd try to not overthink it. If there are other signs, it might warrant a few thoughts.
