I get the physical differences on average but even when it’s a competent female fighter if she beats a man it’s all he was going easy on her crap. Why can’t people just let us have our win? Why do they infantilise us? I honestly upsets me like there’s nothing wrong with losing to a woman. Why is this such a sore point for some people?
+1 yI’d say many men will say that the man was going easy because of several reasons, but I’ll cover two.
One, in general, men are physically stronger and larger than women. In the case of untrained fighters, a man will typically be able to hit harder than a woman as well as endure a harder beating than a woman, making a man have a higher likelihood of winning a M/F fight.
Two, most men on the internet don’t have real fighting experience and don’t understand the difference that training can make. I’ve personally have trained in martial arts for 8 years and have won multiple school fights against men who were larger than me. I can speak from experience that with the right training, one can hit 3x if not 4x harder than they would be able to had they not trained.
So, I believe that a well trained woman can definitely beat an untrained man in a fight.
I’ve seen security footage of women successfully fighting off untrained men.
Most people on the internet don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to fighting.
BUT. What if we have a well-trained man vs a well-trained woman? Then, the odds favor the man again because with equally skilled fighters, the determining factor for winning will begin to return to back to physical advantages.
This is one of the reasons why I support women carrying firearms for self-defense, because firearms are the great equalizer and truly is skill-based as compared to hand-to-hand combat where physicality plays quite an important role.
There’s a reason why even in male combat-sports like boxing, wrestling, or MMA, there are weight classes. Otherwise, the heavyweight champions would win every competition (think Mike Tyson at his prime).12 Reply- +1 y

+1 yA far better question than it seems at first sight because of the psychological aspect. In the example you mention, sure the man tries somehow to save the appearances, but still...
Let's first of all face the plain fact that genders do exist, and as far as I feel and understand the human nature, it seems that normal males are very reluctant to combat females. Somehow this is against nature, which means most excellent male fighters may display during a fraction of a second a little hesitance in front of a female adversary, hesitance that may play in favour of the female...
I know for sure nearly all women know that instinctively. That's why in particular circumstances a female adversary can be far more dangerous than a male one. Mind this has nothing to do with sexism. Ego of course is involved at last, but I guess you get an idea of the underlying reasons.

Down side is it can give us a false sense of security because we are lead to believe this is how strong men are and if we encounter a horrible man who won’t hold back then it’s a sharp reality slap.
- +1 y
Indeed there are horrible people on this planet: perfection is not from this world ;0)
+1 yI have seen some videos. And they are. They are much stronger than us and they are aware of that so they try to be extra careful and when they go against a woman who goes 100 %, of course they end up beaten by her.
I believe results would be more fair if the guy didn't care about the gender he's up against.
If I promised a guy who crushed on me a date, maybe a 100 bucks on top if he defeats some random girl he hasn't seen before, I will happily do that just to see how things would play out.24 Reply- +1 y
Yeah I know. Maybe because if they go easy on us we just assume they arnt as strong as they actually are so it’s a false sense of security?
- +1 y
The people who assume they aren't strong don't know what guys are capable of. Maybe the guy himself doesn't know either, but I doubt that. It's a false sense for sure. Of security I wouldn't say that. I prefer safe sparring over rough sparring. If he doesn't go all out, you don't either.
I have had rough sparring with guys before and it can hurt like hell 🥺 but I agreed to it, you must have realistic expectations when going hard against someone who is stronger than you. - +1 y
100% well said. I’m personally not a fighter so I try to avoid conflicts when possible. Not worth the risk.

The best strategy is to just run away.
+1 yLosing to a woman is humiliating. Even guys who lose from being hit in the balls (Which is horrible for them I'm told) they can't accept defeat.

yeah, especially because it's not really a fair fight if you get kneed in the nuts. I think that's why guys wouldn't accept defeat from that

I've seen quite a few videos of women trying to have a sparring match with men, thinking they could take them on, then went completely surprised when they got throw away like potato bags.
Thing is, it's women who can't stand that idea, because we have a big "girl boss" speech pushed on women, telling them they're equal, if not better, than men in every way. And then sometimes reality comes in, in full force, and they don't accept it.
Hence the famous double standard: a girl can hit a man and you'll have people praising her for it, but a man can't retaliate because he's stronger.

I do fear it also gives us a false sense of security. That if men do go easy on us we begin to believe they arnt as strong as they actually are.
- +1 y
Well that's what is happening, and the videos I talked about are a result of it. Women thinking they're as strong as men, and discovering they're not. At least these women were safe, the guys wouldn't hurt them, but if they tried the same with any other aggressor, that might end badly.
I don't see why it's such a shame to admit that women are physically weaker, that's just how it is. - +1 y
I don’t. I’m realistic on this. We arnt strong physically on average it’s just the way we’re built. But still it’s an average and outliers do exist of course.
I mainly have a problem with people who say even a well trained woman would lose to a untrained man of similar size. It feels patronising I guess.
I think most men, most of the time, are stronger than most women. That doesn't mean there aren't exceptions, but it does mean that fights will generally be relatively one-sided. So a couple consequences:
1. There is a taboo around men hurting women, so men may feel the need to hold back some of their strength, even if the woman consents to a fight. Even men who act in self-defense will sometimes be blamed.
2. If a woman does genuinely defeat a man in a fight, there is a stigma to this, and the man may be seen as unusually weak, because he lost a fight he "should" have one, which is a cause for ridicule.10 Reply- 1.8K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
+1 yOne possible reason: There are lots of videos of girls harassing and hitting guys and people laugh, but if he responds even by just pushing her away the White Knights will swarm him. Because of this societal dynamic, guys are taught to hold back when dealing with an aggressive woman. In other words it could very well be true.
Another possible reason: she's trained and he isn't. I'm big, but not huge (6'2 and between 195 and 200). In sparring I have beaten guys who were not fat but who had 50 or more lbs on me. They were physically stronger, but I have been studying BJJ and Uechi-Ryu since my early teens and they were not trained. In the same way a 140 lb female highly-trained in a full contact martial art is going to be able to beat a lot of guys who have 30, 40 lbs on her.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yBecause it's very likely he did go easy on her. The fact is men are conditioned from the time we are very young to not hurt a female. I'll give you an example. I played football in high school and we had a female kicker on our team. We called her our secret weapon because players from other schools would never go in on her full speed because they were afraid to hurt her.
It's just a fact that if a woman wins a fight against a man, the odds are extremely high that he was not fighting her with the same power and aggression he would have against a man.
00 ReplyBeaten by a girl trope, he was likely holding back, and losing to a woman is sure shameful.
00 Reply920 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. But, she did have her win?
You seem to want people to "infantilise" the man as well in "compensation". Not sure you even know what you're talking about, tbh.
A win is a win. Doesn't matter if it was a transwoman fighting a woman.

+1 yBecause the white knight saviors brigade will come out for his blood if a man defends himself from female aggression. It's often quicker and more socially, politically, and financially expedient to take the hits and move on than it is to lose your career and social standing and a lot of money on legal fees. Yet women wonder why men aren't fighters anymore: becausecthey wielded the various powers of government and government's propaganda arms to stop the.. well done, feminists!

+1 yBecause women are protected in society. A woman can beat a man and no one bats an eye. A man beats a woman he is ruined for life. You don’t under the magnification of that. When we become truly fair if a woman decides to put they hands on a man and it’s acceptable to beat her, then we can talk about your issues here. But until then, men will always have to fight women with two hands tied behind there back even though the woman started the fight.

Agreed, but your victories are not going to be in the field of unarmed combat, unless you're fighting an elderly man with a heart condition. And he'd still go easy on you because you're a woman.
If she beats me, fair enough. I get into a lot of physical conflicts. Whether it’s male or female I am mindful of their size, skills ability, etc and take that into consideration
