If a guy actually likes you will he try and hide it or make it known? Which is more genuine?

The more obvious he makes it seem the less he actually likes you?

This guy wasn’t afraid to get close but he does back away if I feel uncomfortable.. nothing inappropriate. He ask how I am and he did appear to be nosey (in my conversation ) when I was on the phone near him. He did seem to look a lot and when he would be talking in a group he looked at me a lot

This is just not how it works. Its going to depend on the guy. Its going to mostly depend on how shy a particular guy is when it comes to girls he likes. Most guys will make it known in fairly obvious ways, but without coming-right-out-and-telling you he likes you. Most guys won't hide it. The only guys who would even try and hide it, are super shy or insecure guys (and even then, it's very obvious that guy likes you because he seems to be avoiding you).

Neither one is more genuine than the other. You cannot judge someone's sincerity based on this. Not at all.

That is just wrong. Just plain wrong. That is 100% incorrect. There is absolutely no correlation between how obvious a guy is; and how much he likes you.

I continue to just be amazed at the myths and falsehoods girls associate with relationships. Just reading the first sentence of your post nearly made my head explode.
